Ecology & Nature
Golfers might not always enjoy seeing the hazard of the Bourn Brook as it meanders through the golf course. But it is a fantastic feature for birdwatchers and nature lovers. You may be lucky enough to spot the flash of blue of our resident kingfisher.
We also have visiting swans, a variety of geese and ducks and the occasional unwelcome heron! But that’s not all. The area between the 10th and 11th is a real haven for wildlife and a favourite for wild flower enthusiasts.
Our greenkeepers take particular care of some special orchids and areas of cowslips. The wildlife areas are home to numerous species of birds and small animals. And we are doing everything possible to encourage bees! The course covers 205 acres with plenty of wildflower areas in what should be parts of the course out of play to golfers!
